BlueCat Networks Founders Selected as Finalists in Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year Awards

TORONTO -- (MARKET WIRE) -- July 12, 2005 -- BlueCat Networks, Inc. today announced that company founders, Michael Hyatt and Richard Hyatt, have been selected as finalists in the 12th annual Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year® awards. Recognized for their leadership skills, determination and vision, the Hyatt brothers were among 40 entrepreneurs selected as Ontario region finalists in the 2005 awards program.

The Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year awards, which has been acknowledged as Canada's most prestigious business awards program, is now in its 12th year. The program considers nominees in a number of business categories before selecting finalists. BlueCat Networks' founders were named finalists in the category of Technology and Communication.

"Previous winners have gone on to become international successes, and we are honoured to be in the company of such highly respected organizations," said Michael Hyatt, president and CEO of BlueCat Networks. "To be ranked as a finalist further solidifies the entrepreneurial spirit and excellence which is alive and thriving in today's business marketplace and forms the foundation for our technology leadership."

The Entrepreneur Of The Year program was founded by Ernst & Young to celebrate great entrepreneurs and heighten awareness of the economic impact of entrepreneurial ventures. The awards honour entrepreneurs who have demonstrated excellence and extraordinary success in areas such as innovation, risk taking, company development, financial performance, and personal commitment to their businesses and communities. Submissions are reviewed by an independent judging panel, which is comprised of several distinguished Canadian business leaders and previous award recipients.

"The international recognition of the award positions recipients as world-class entrepreneurs, and provides a benchmark for entrepreneurial excellence," said Richard Hyatt, CTO of BlueCat Networks. "We are proud to be placed alongside the much-admired leaders who have previously been recognized by this award, and are today important role models in their respective industries."

This year's winner will be announced November 3, 2005, in Ottawa. In June 2006, Canada's Entrepreneur Of The Year moves to the world stage, joining more than 35 country recipients participating in the international competition for the title of World Entrepreneur Of The Year.
