Bluelock Announces Support for Global Connect, a New Feature of VMware vCloud® Datacenter Services

Leading VMware vCloud® Service Providers Partner to Develop Globally Federated vCloud Datacenter Services

INDIANAPOLIS, IN--(Marketwire - Aug 29, 2011) - Today at VMworld® 2011, Bluelock, a certified VMware vCloud® Datacenter Services provider, announced support for VMware vCloud Datacenter Global Connect, an optional feature of VMware vCloud Datacenter Services. Global Connect will enable customers to use cloud computing from multiple providers across the globe as if they are from a single virtual cloud.

Global Connect is 100 percent compatible with VMware vSphere® and the VMware vCloud architecture, enabling applications to run without modification on clouds from different providers as well as within customers' internal private VMware software-based cloud. Automated provisioning, public and private application catalogs, and web-based self-service simplify and automate workload deployment and management across clouds. Additionally Global Connect supports VMware vCloud Connector which offers a single-pane-of-glass management view to customers' private and global public cloud resources.

"Our partnership with VMware and the other cloud providers ultimately enables global enterprises to get the cloud computing infrastructure they need, where they need it, and when they want it -- anywhere in the world," said Pat O'Day, chief technology officer, Bluelock. "Enterprises with global customers or global operations that require high performance, high availability cloud computing local to the countries where they operate, or enterprises that must comply with international regulations for data privacy, locality and confidentiality will all benefit from the Global Connect capability of VMware vCloud Datacenter Services."

"As more companies begin to compete in the global marketplace, access to technology resources becomes key to efficiently delivering applications and services to a worldwide customer base," said Dan Chu, vice president, cloud infrastructure and services, VMware. "We are thrilled to see these VMware vCloud® Datacenter Services providers come together to offer a global solution that will further facilitate the journey to the enterprise hybrid cloud."
