Bluesocket Announces Appointment of Industry Veteran Chris Koeneman as Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Marketing

BOSTON, MA--(Marketwire - October 25, 2010) -  Bluesocket announces the appointment of industry veteran Chris Koeneman as Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Marketing. Chris Koeneman further strengthens the leadership team of the company, as Bluesocket continues to lead the market as the number one supplier of virtual wireless LAN networking.

Chris has held senior leadership positions at companies such as AT&T and Cisco. During his tenure at Cisco from 1996 to 2000 he was based in London handling sales to service providers. His tenure at AT&T spanned 10 years from 1985 to 1995. From 2006 to 2008 Chris was Vice President of Worldwide Sales at Colubris Networks, which was acquired by Hewlett-Packard. Most recently, Chris served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Datacom Systems. In addition, Chris served in similar roles at Avici Systems and Redline Communications.

"We are excited to have Chris on board as we continue to gain market share with our vWLAN® solution. Today, it is the only WLAN solution where management and control exists completely in the Cloud. The only hardware required at the customer location, in a hypervisor implementation, is the access point," says Mads Lillelund, President and CEO of Bluesocket. "Chris brings a wealth of sales and marketing leadership to Bluesocket from both large and medium sized enterprises. We look forward to his leadership skills as we aggressively position our vWLAN® solution as the clear leader in the virtual WLAN market."

"I am thrilled to be joining Bluesocket at this very important time in the wireless industry. Bluesocket has leveraged its leadership in secure WLAN solutions and has now staked out the position as the leader in virtualized WLAN with its vWLAN® solution," says Chris Koeneman, Vice President of Sales and Marketing. "What attracted me to Bluesocket was its focus on customers, breakthrough innovation in virtualization, and the ability to offer its solutions in the cloud."

Chris has an MBA from Georgia State University -- J. Mack Robinson College of Business and a BA from Indiana University Bloomington.

He is based out of the Bluesocket headquarters in Burlington, Massachusetts.
