Bluewater Adventures and Raincoast Conservation Foundation Partner to Present Unique Travel Experience: "Great Bear Rainforest Allies Expedition"

NORTH VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwired - Jan. 22, 2014) - Travelers have the opportunity to explore the Great Bear Rainforest on an 8-day research/conservation themed voyage exploring one of the world's largest, unspoiled, coastal temperate rainforests. This timely partnership between Bluewater Adventures and Raincoast Conservation Foundation is announced amidst threats facing the region including pipelines and supertankers, salmon farms and trophy hunting.

Bluewater has been a long-time supporter of conservation. "From an economic perspective, the success of our industry is connected to the health of the environment," says Randy Burke, Bluewater owner. "Raincoast's work provides an invaluable contribution to the success of a 'very real' conservation economy on our coast. It's about connecting people with nature and ensuring the future of these places matters to them."

Raincoast's Dr. Caroline Fox and Captain Brian Falconer lead a small group into the remote Great Bear in search of whales, coastal birds and incredible scenery. Ashore, guests will observe grizzlies, black bears with hopes of seeing the rare Kermode.

Bluewater Adventures is an award-winning eco-tour operator offering First Nations culture and wildlife-focused tours along BC's coast and Southeast Alaska. Raincoast Conservation Foundation is a non-profit organization comprised of a team of conservationists and scientists empowered by research to protect the lands, waters and wildlife of coastal BC. Both organizations share the responsibility to preserve BC's wild places.
