BMO Bank of Montreal Announces Alberta Flood Relief Program

LETHBRIDGE, ALBERTA and MEDICINE HAT, ALBERTA--(Marketwired - June 18, 2014) - BMO Bank of Montreal today announced a financial flood relief program to assist customers in Alberta in the event of major flooding in the region.

"Across Alberta, precautions are being taken by a number of communities as water levels rise in several rivers, creeks and lakes," said Robert Hayes, Senior Vice President, Alberta and NWT Division, BMO Bank of Montreal. "In the event of major flooding, we want our customers in Alberta to know a financial relief program will be in place as it was last year for those who face challenges as a result."

The relief program for BMO clients includes:

  • Deferral of personal loan payments (various options)
  • Deferral of personal mortgage loan principal and interest payments for a period of two months
  • Special accommodations for BMO Bank of Montreal commercial customers affected by the flooding, which are being developed on a case-by-case basis.

In the event of flooding, BMO Bank of Montreal customers are invited to contact their local branch to speak to a financial services manager about their particular financial needs.
