BNP Paribas Adds Andrew Platt, Former Head of Power & Energy Project Finance, to Its Corporate Finance Group

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - November 9, 2010) -  BNP Paribas Corporate and Investment Banking is pleased to announce Andrew Platt has joined the Corporate Finance group as a managing director with a focus on the North America power sector. Previously, Andrew was head of the North America Power & Energy Project Finance team for BNP Paribas. Andrew is based in New York and reports to John Brim, head of Energy & Commodities Corporate Finance for North America.

Andrew will focus on the development of the bank's business in the power sector and expand its capabilities and product offering for clients by providing buy-side, sell-side and restructuring advisory services, particularly at the asset level with both conventional and renewable assets and transmission.

Andrew joined the project finance group at BNP Paribas in 1996 and became co-head of North America Project Finance in 2003 before becoming sole head of the team in 2007. Prior to joining BNP Paribas, Andrew spent five years with Prudential in their private placement group focused on asset-backed securities, LBOs and project finance.

Andrew has been instrumental in expanding the project finance franchise for North America, specifically in the areas of wind, oil sands, project finance bonds, institutional term loans, renewables, and financial advisory assignments. "His new role will compliment BNP Paribas' expansion in Corporate Finance which includes the acquisition of Hill Street Partners in May 2010," said Brim. "This move further emphasizes BNP Paribas' commitment to strengthening its Corporate Finance presence in the Americas."
