BNP Paribas Expands U.S. Equities Strategy Team

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - November 29, 2010) - BNP Paribas Corporate and Investment Banking is pleased to announce the expansion of its U.S. Equities Strategy Team as part of an ongoing initiative to further enhance the bank's capabilities and client offerings. Stephen Salemy, Greg Lantz and Anne Cameron join the bank's Global Equities and Commodity Derivatives group and are based in New York, reporting to Luke Edwards.

Stephen Salemy will focus on Equity Relative Value for BNP Paribas and provide leadership to the group's growing strategy platform. He joins the bank from Rafferty Capital Markets where he produced research on the merger arbitrage, event driven, capital structure and equity derivatives investing space. Stephen also spent 15 years at J.P. Morgan, primarily in the equity derivatives group, in addition to working at several private investment firms.

Greg Lantz has over 11 years of experience in the event-driven and risk arbitrage space and was most recently a senior analyst at Oppenheimer & Co where he helped co-found the sell-side, event-driven efforts.

Anne Cameron joins BNP Paribas from J.P. Morgan's Equity Research department where she spent the last two years focusing on Oil and Gas Exploration and Production. She was named as an "Up and Coming" Exploration and Production Analyst by Institutional Investor Magazine in 2010.

The expanded team will help BNP Paribas enhance its content offering to now include equity relative value, cross-asset and convertible arbitrage, event driven and fundamental ideas in the energy space leveraging its tight alignment with Commodities to provide unique insights for equity investors.

"The U.S. Equities Strategy Team, along with the recent launch of corporate access, is part of the growth initiatives to increase our impact with institutional clients and is a vital step in the Americas in building our Global Equities brand," commented Chris Innes, head of Institutional Equity Sales in the Americas. Innes joined BNP Paribas in August 2010 to spearhead the expansion of content and distribution across cash, equity derivatives, convertibles and prime brokerage.
