BNP Paribas Hosts Drobny Macro Summer School

Over 80 Professionals Attend the Seminar

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - Aug 12, 2013) -  BNP Paribas and Drobny Global Advisors, a leading independent macro research and advisory firm, held their inaugural BNP Paribas-Drobny Macro Summer School in July in New York City. This unique training program is designed to help accelerate the learning process for junior buy-side professionals and benefit from the wisdom of experienced "professors" offering advice on macro markets, trade ideas and career paths.

The Macro Summer School program is part of a broader BNP Paribas initiative to engage with clients early in their careers. "BNP Paribas is committed to ensuring that junior professionals at our clients' firms contemplate BNP Paribas as a primary resource for financial services. This is a priority for us," said Jonathan Bass, Head of US Fixed Income Distribution and Head of Investor Relationship Management Americas.

Over 80 junior professionals from Mexican corporate pensions, to Canadian public pensions to Asian and Brazilian institutional investors attended the one-day event.

The Macro Summer School featured presentations by experienced buy-side investment professionals on a range of topics including: macro portfolio construction; risk management frameworks and analytics; macro research and analysis; monetary policy and central bank reaction functions; Interest rates trading; Foreign currency and volatility; emerging market portfolios and challenges; and an inside look at commodities trading.

"The goal of Macro Summer School is to offer practical insights from some of the top practitioners in the world. We are thrilled about the response we have received from clients and excited to be working with BNP Paribas on the program," stated Andres Drobny, founding partner of Drobny Global Advisors.

Due to the success of this year's event, BNP Paribas intends to repeat the experience in 2014.
