BNP Paribas Names Julia Coronado Chief Economist, North America


NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - September 16, 2010) -  BNP Paribas Corporate and Investment Banking is pleased to announce the appointment of Julia Coronado as Chief Economist, North America. Julia is based in New York and reports locally to Bob Hawley, head of Fixed Income, Americas and globally to Paul Mortimer-Lee, global head of Market Economics based in London.

Julia joined BNP Paribas in July 2009, as a senior economist. Prior, Julia was a senior economist for Barclays Capital where she helped formulate the forecast for the US economy and Fed policy. After receiving a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Texas, specializing in Public Finance and Econometrics, Julia worked as an Economist for the Federal Reserve Board of Governors, working in Flow of Funds and Macroeconomic Analysis sections in the Division of Research and Statistics. She is a widely published author on economic affairs in professional journals, press and television.

In Julia's expanded role, she will advise on all issues pertaining to North America, with a special focus on forecasting the outlook for the US economy.
