Board Appointment at Associated Network Partners Inc.

SPRINGFIELD, IL -- (MARKET WIRE) -- August 19, 2005 -- Associated Network Partners Inc. (ANPI), the country's leading consortium of independent and cooperative telephone companies, today announced the appointment of Jack Harvey to its Board of Directors. Harvey, senior vice president - Business Operations for the Herndon, VA-based National Rural Telecommunications Cooperative (NRTC), will begin his term effective immediately. Harvey fills the board vacancy left by Mr. Earl Bishop, who resigned from the board.

Explaining his reasons for accepting a position on ANPI's Board of Directors, Harvey said, "The ANPI team has done an incredible job in making ANPI one of the few truly outstanding service companies to the independent and cooperative telephone community." He continues, "I have been particularly impressed with the development of ANPI's applications and solutions developed specifically for the independent and cooperative members they serve and ANPI's commitment to develop solutions for converging technologies. I am especially looking forward to working with and learning from the other directors who have guided ANPI's growth over the last 9 years."

In his role at NRTC, Harvey leads a team whose sole focus is to find and develop new business opportunities that help rural telco and electric members deliver leading-edge telecommunication technologies to their respective communities. Prior to joining NRTC in 1999, Harvey spent over 25 years in the telecommunications industry with AT&T and the Regional Bell Operating Companies.

ANPI's president and CEO, Dave Lewis, added, "All of the member companies that comprise ANPI will benefit greatly from the expertise and forward-thinking vision that Harvey's leadership will bring to the board. Having a representative from NRTC on ANPI's board further solidifies our two organizations' strategic alliance and will result in even greater levels of service to the telcos that we serve."
