bobble® Launches #EndTheTrend Campaign to Stop Waste of Single-Use Plastic Water Bottles

RALEIGH, NC--(Marketwired - Nov 19, 2015) - bobble®, the leader in sustainable and stylish drinking solutions, today announced the launch of an integrated marketing campaign, #EndTheTrend, to bring awareness to the issue of waste generated by single-use plastic water bottles. In a world where the lines between health and fitness are blurred with the fashion category, style often triumphs over substance when it comes to healthy accessories. Americans use approximately 50 billion plastic water bottles each year, yet recycle less than half of those1.

At the center of the U.S. campaign is a one-minute film positioned as a broadcast commercial for fictitious water brand, Once. The film champions, in a satirical way, the thoughtless consumption of single-use plastic water bottles in our culture. Various scenarios symbolize the egregious waste caused by this common practice. bobble is positioned at the end of the video as the solution to this crisis, where 38 billion disposable water bottles are thrown away every year in the U.S. alone.1

"bobble's #EndTheTrend campaign demonstrates our belief that single-use plastic water bottles are a trend that's out of fashion," said Brian Berklich, Marketing Director of Seventh Generation Ventures, the company behind bobble. "It's not cool to accessorize with disposables and drink from bottles that may end up in a landfill. We're challenging consumers to choose substance over convenience and lasting style over fads by embracing bobble."

The campaign complements the launch of bobble Insulate™ and bobble Infuse™ in the U.S. market and continues the brand's mission to reduce the outrageous waste of single-use, disposable beverages. bobble Insulate is a high-grade, stainless steel drinking vessel that keeps beverages hot for up to 12 hours or cold for up to 24 hours. Designed by renowned industrial designer Karim Rashid, bobble Infuse is a sleek, BPA-free water bottle featuring an innovative, modular cap system that enables users to hydrate, filter, or infuse.
