Boeing Selects Quantum3D Independence IDX 2000 IG Solution for the X-45C Joint Unmanned Combat Air System (J-UCAS) Pilot Training Device

Quantum3D Independence IG Solution to Provide High Fidelity Nose Wheel Camera Video Simulation for Pilot Training and Mission Rehearsal

ORLANDO, FL -- (MARKET WIRE) -- November 28, 2005 -- Quantum3D®, Inc., a leading provider of COTS, open-architecture, realtime visual computing solutions for the Visual and Sensor Simulation Training (VSST) and Embedded Visual Computing (EVC) markets announced today at the Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference (I/ITSEC) that Boeing has selected the Quantum3D Independence® IDX 2000 Image Generator (IG) Solution for the X-45C Joint Unmanned Combat Air System (J-UCAS) Pilot Training Device which is located at Edwards Air Force Base (EAFB) Flight Test Center.

The X-45C J-UCAS is a largely autonomous Air Vehicle (AV) with pilot training requirements considerably different from those for manned AV pilots. As a result, the J-UCAS Pilot Training Device (JPTD) represents a new breed of aircrew training with potential application for the rapidly expanding spectrum of Unmanned Air Vehicles (UAVs).

The Quantum3D Independence IDX 2000 IG Solution will provide the simulation of Nose Wheel Camera (NWC) video for the JPTD, which also provides mission rehearsal training for the entire flight test team prior to execution of each flight test. The Independence family of IG Solutions is on display at the Quantum3D I/ITSEC booth No. 1873 and in select partner booths.

"With its joint services nature, combined with its support for both surveillance and precision strike mission, J-UCAS represents some unique challenges for UV pilot training and mission rehearsal," said Ross Q. Smith, Quantum3D cofounder and president. "All of us at Quantum3D are pleased that Boeing has once again selected Independence as the IG Solution for another important training system."
