Bombardier Presents Integrated Solutions for Mobility at Asia Pacific Rail in Hong Kong

At one of Asia Pacific's most prestigious rail conferences, Bombardier highlights system integration, signalling and solutions for new rail developments

HONG KONG, CHINA--(Marketwired - March 20, 2016) - Rail technology leader Bombardier Transportation is the Platinum Sponsor of this year's edition of the Asia Pacific Rail conference and exhibition in Hong Kong on March 22-23. This annual gathering brings senior supply chain representatives and industry experts together with the Asia Pacific region's rail operators. Under its theme of "Integrated Mobility", Bombardier is proud to host the VIP Lounge for the delegates at this year's event.

At the conference, Bombardier's Head of South East Asia, Jayaram Naidu, will discuss solutions for new rail developments. "Demand is growing for fully integrated, turnkey rail systems for Asia Pacific's fast growing cities," said Jayaram. "As an innovation leader, Bombardier combines the latest transport technologies, from e-mobility to fully automated transit, with its system integration capabilities. We are a committed long-term partner and our expert teams can support the complete life-cycle of every kind of rail system, from its development through to implementation, operations and maintenance."

In the keynote signalling and communications panel session, Joffrey Lauthier, Head of Sales Asia Pacific, Rail Control Solutions at Bombardier Transportation, will speak about industry best practices of Communications-Based Train Control (CBTC) signalling projects. The advanced BOMBARDIER CITYFLO 650 CBTC technology is the solution of choice for Bangkok's Mass Rapid Transit network (Purple Line), Malaysia's Klang Valley Mass Rapid Transit system as well as for Delhi Metro Line 7.

To support the rising trend for high-density urban mobility in cities, the Bombardier team will present their latest solutions for the region. For example, a fleet of fully automated BOMBARDIER MOVIA Metros is currently being delivered to the new Downtown Line, increasing high-capacity public transport in Singapore. In China, Bombardier established a Joint Venture (JV) with CSR Puzhen in 2014 to manufacture BOMBARDIER INNOVIA Monorail and BOMBARDIER INNOVIA Automated People Mover (APM) vehicles and to supply them as complete transit systems for cities and airports. At Asia Pacific Rail, Bombardier will exhibit a model of the INNOVIA Monorail 300 system on behalf of the JV. The JV's first order is for a BOMBARDIER INNOVIA APM 300 system which will serve as an extension to the existing Shanghai Metro Line 8. For the first time, the INNOVIA APM trains will feature inter-car gangways to enable smooth passenger flow in the busy urban environment.

Meet the Bombardier team at Asia Pacific Rail 2016 in Hall 3FG at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre on March 22-23, 2016.
