Bombardier Showcases its CRJ900 NextGen Airliner at India Aviation 2008 in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD, INDIA--(Marketwire - Oct. 13, 2008) - The CRJ900 NextGen regional jet is en route to Hyderabad as part of Bombardier Aerospace's show of strength at India Aviation 2008. A global success story, the 90-seat CRJ900 NextGen aircraft is one of Bombardier's largest and most advanced regional jets in production.

"The CRJ900 NextGen airliner is ideally suited for the growing Indian regional aviation market," said Trung Ngo, Bombardier Commercial Aircraft's Vice President, Sales, for the Asia-Pacific market which includes India.

"The CRJ NextGen aircraft are optimized for medium-haul applications and are benchmarks for regional jet efficiency in the 60- to 100-seat market on the strength of better economics, including lower fuel burn and operating costs," he added.

Bearing the colours of U.S.-based Delta Airlines, the CRJ900 NextGen jet will be on display in Hyderabad from October 15 to 17. With over 120 orders, the CRJ900 NextGen regional jet is the best-selling member of the CRJ NextGen aircraft family. The 70- to 78-seat CRJ700 NextGen jet has attracted 50 orders and the 100-seat CRJ1000 NextGen jet has 45 firm orders from four airlines.

Bombardier's Canadair Regional Jet (later re-named CRJ regional jets) launched modern regional aviation in 1992. In India, both Jet Airways and Indian Airlines/Alliance Air operate CRJ aircraft.

Mr. Ngo is joined by Sunder Venkat, Sales Director - India, and Ryan Debrusk, Sales Director - Asia-Pacific region, at India Aviation 2008. The three bring over 60 years of aviation industry experience and international business acumen to new and existing customers in India.

"Bombardier Commercial Aircraft is in a great position to promote all its market-leading products in Hyderabad - the CRJ NextGen regional jet, Q400 turboprop and the all-new CSeries airliners, the world's newest and most advanced single-aisle aircraft designed to set new standards in technology, fuel efficiency and reduced environmental impact, said Mr. Venkat.
