JOHANNESBURG, SOUTH AFRICA--(Marketwired - June 27, 2016) - Rail technology leader Bombardier Transportation is proud to be part of South Africa's rail evolution by offering the industry's broadest portfolio of products. After more than five decades of investment in South Africa, Bombardier is committed to covering the country's complete range of railway needs from vehicles, equipment manufacturing and technology to software and customer service requirements.

Bombardier has already proven itself a key partner to South Africa's ongoing passenger and freight transportation network modernization. Bombardier will also soon be opening its first Propulsion and Controls manufacturing facility in Johannesburg which will produce the BOMBARDIER MITRAC high power propulsion equipment for the TRAXX locomotives.

At AfricaRail 2016, Bombardier will be showcasing its successful Gautrain and TRAXX Africa Locomotive projects, integrated solutions that create substantial benefits for operators, passengers and the environment, as well as our extensive Rail Control and Service / Maintenance solutions.
