Bonaventure Enterprises Inc.: Second Update on Winter Drill Program at K9 Uranium Property

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - May 8, 2008) - BONAVENTURE ENTERPRISES INC. (TSX VENTURE:BVT)(FRANKFURT:YQG) is pleased to provide its shareholders with a second update on the Company's 2008 winter drilling program at the K9 Uranium Property ("K9") in the James Bay Mining District.

A total of 4,229.0 m of NQ-sized coring has been completed in 25 holes (K9-08-01 to 25) to date (refer to the appended table for drill holes statistics). The drilling has centered on Targets 8 (K9-08-01 to 09, and 11 to 13), 11 (K9-08-19, 21, 23 and 25) and 13 (K9-08-10, 14 to 18, 20, 22 and 24), covering 2 km of the 7 km long K9 Uranium Corridor. The drilling is part of the first 10,000 m being completed to test the 14 near surface uranium targets (Targets 1 to 14) from the K9 Uranium Corridor.

Drill core descriptions and sampling, and down-hole gamma scintillometer surveying has been completed for all 25 drill holes. A total of 1,033 split core samples have been sent to the ALS Group Laboratories (Val-d'Or, Quebec) for assaying. The U3O8 chemical assay results are pending and will be released as they become available.

Lithologies, alterations and structures as observed at surface in 2007 have been recognized in drill core, that include radioactive mafic schlierens, pegmatites, granites and shear zones. Surface radioactive zones show continuity with depth, from surface to 125 m vertical depth, with spiky radioactive zones that can be correlated with uranium-bearing radiometric highs recorded in up-dip surface outcrops, thus adding to the three-dimensional picture of the K9 Uranium Corridor. Even though radioactivity can be derived from uranium, thorium, potassium and rare earth elements in any combination, surface samples from 2007 taken to 0.5 m depth have demonstrated the presence of higher levels of uranium with radioactive signatures similar to those observed in drill core and during down hole scintillometer surveying.

The K9 Uranium Corridor (refer to previous Bonaventure news releases dated October 1, October 16 and November 12, 2007; and February 20 and March 4, 2008) is a primary (surface) 7 km long uranium anomaly averaging 675 m in width. Equivalent uranium assays (or eU3O8) from a total of 522 readings in the corridor averaged 0.05% eU3O8, whereas the 94 individual bedrock surface samples taken from the corridor averaged 0.12% eU3O8. A total of 91 bedrock samples were chemically assayed and averaged 0.14% U3O8 (2.80 lbs/ton U3O8). The 88 spectrometer readings from the Target 8 sector averaged 0.08% eU3O8; whereas chemical assays from the 26 bedrock samples averaged 0.21% U3O8.

Exploration to date on K9 indicates a significant two-dimensional uranium system covering 5.25 km2 in the near-vertical dipping lithologies. The uranium system is open laterally and at depth. K9 is being explored for Rossing-type uranium, a very large low grade uranium deposit that is mined as a large-scale open-pit operation in Namibia. The principal exploration target is multiple uranium-bearing pegmatites, upwards of 30 m in thickness, in gneisses. Mining volume is usually created by the emplacement of many pegmatites in close proximity. This type of mineralization generally shows kilometric airborne radiometric anomalies for uranium similar to what is found at K9. Uranium levels in the pegmatites are between 0.0075% (0.15 lbs/ton) and 0.01% (0.20 lbs/ton) U3O8. The Rossing Deposit average grade is around 0.032% (0.64 lbs/ton) U3O8.
