Bordeaux invades Ontario invades Bordeaux!

Attention: Assignment Editor, Business/Financial Editor, Food/Beverage Editor, News Editor HARROW, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Jan. 11, 2005) - Colio Estate Wines announced today that they have entered into an exciting new business relationship with Vignobles J M Moueix of France. Both parties anticipate that this will provide tremendous mutual benefits in two of the major wine buying regions of the world - Ontario and Europe.

What started as a casual, comfortable conversation at Vinexpo in 2003 (one of the largest wine expositions in the world and held in Bordeaux, France every two years) is now an official business partnership. In mid-December 2004, the first shipment of ultra-premium Colio Estate Vineyard Vidal and Cabernet Franc Icewine was sent across the ocean to Bordeaux for initial distribution throughout France and Belgium.

In a reciprocal exchange, Colio Estate Wines now represents the exclusive wines of Jean-Michel Moueix in Ontario. The company will be selling his brands through private stock orders and the LCBO's consignment warehouse, with plans to eventually move these exceptional and highly sought wines to Vintages.

"We are ecstatic about the opportunities for both markets" stated a delighted Jim Clark, President of Colio. "We see huge potential in our market for this very exquisite selection from one of the most respected names in Bordeaux. From our perspective, they are an extremely well-established and well-represented presence in Europe and around the globe. They are equally enthused about the award-winning wines and Icewines that we can supply to their markets." He added, "We see nothing but positives coming out of this."

J M Moueix is a company of great significance in Bordeaux. The Maison Moueix was established in 1905, and today their wines are some of the finest that St. Emilion and Pomerol have to offer. From St. Emilion there is Chateau La Tour du Pin Figeac Grand Cru Classé, the two Grand Cru wines of Clos La Fleur Figeac and Château Rochebrune, along with the stunning Clos Belle Rose. And from Pomerol, they have the Château Beauregard and Clos Toulifaut - all of which are virtual "must haves" for wine enthusiasts and collectors.

Colio Estate Wines was established in 1980 and under the guiding hand of Master Winemaker, Carlo Negri, it has secured its place on the world stage with award-winning Icewines and noteworthy reds such as CEV Merlot Reserve and CEV Cabernet Franc Reserve.

For Jim Clark, the timing could not have been better. "2005 marks our 25th Anniversary which is quite a milestone in the youthful Canadian wine scene," he mused. "The business arrangement with Jean-Michel adds extraordinary sparkle to the year ahead" he states, undoubtedly in anticipation of raising a glass or two of CEV Lily to toast both the 25th and new opportunities with J M Moueix.
