BorseGo Chooses SkySQL™ for MySQL® Database Support

HELSINKI, FINLAND--(Marketwire - November 8, 2010) -

  • BörseGo joins growing list of Oracle® MySQL® customers that have switched to SkySQL
  • Initial SkySQL customers include ATOS Worldline,, BörseGo,, Nordic Growth Market, Pixid and Voltalis
  • SkySQL offering technical support and services for the MySQL® and MariaDB™ databases

SkySQL Ab™, the alternative source for software, services and support for the MySQL® database, today announced that BörseGo, one of the leading providers of internet-based financial information services in Germany, has selected SkySQL Ab to provide enterprise-wide technical support for its MySQL Enterprise and MySQL Cluster databases.

"When MySQL became part of Oracle, we grew increasingly concerned in regards to future support services especially given Oracle's pricing history," said Thomas Waibel, CFO for BörseGo. "As we assessed alternatives, we were delighted to find SkySQL -- a familiar team with a proven track record for providing enterprise-class support and service at a compelling price point."

Munich-based BörseGo runs its online financial information services on MySQL databases. They have entered into a three year unlimited support subscription for the MySQL Enterprise and MySQL Cluster databases. BörseGo needed to scale their architecture and chose SkySQL for support because of its familiar cost-effective service levels and SkySQL's familiar technical support team, which includes local European-based representatives.

Commenting on the agreement, BörseGo's Head of IT Christian Ehmig stated, "Not only is SkySQL able to provide a highly experienced support team, but their line-up, with 100 years of collective MySQL experience, is made up of familiar faces, which made our decision much easier. Being surrounded by support representatives, consultants and trainers with whom we've previously worked gives us an edge, because we trust in their expertise already."

"BörseGo is entrusting its three professional online financial information sites to SkySQL, which is a huge win for us," said Ulf Sandberg, CEO of SkySQL Ab. "SkySQL is the smart choice for BörseGo because we offer a familiar and proven support team of MySQL experts via an agreement that is familiar, cost-effective and fair. Ultimately, being chosen over our competitors is the biggest testament to our dedication to MySQL database users."

SkySQL Ab's SkySQL Enterprise is a comprehensive subscription service offering of server software, technical support and monitoring tools available for any version of the MySQL database. This enterprise product is backed-up by the SkySQL Product Support team offering 24x7, mission critical, technical support delivery, public and onsite training classes, and custom consulting services for customers with unique needs. The SkySQL Ab team is familiar to many, as all of its members were part of the original MySQL Ab Product Support team.
