MARLBOROUGH, MA--(Marketwired - Feb 10, 2014) - Cantina Consulting, a digital technology agency headquartered in Boston's Seaport District, is broadening its mobile app portfolio into the non-profit world in a new collaboration with Special Olympics Massachusetts.
Through the initial support of Boston-based private equity firm Great Hill Partners, the design phase of the process has been completed, with Special Olympics Massachusetts now looking to secure outside funding to build and launch the app.
The Special Olympics Massachusetts app will be an interactive tool to help users navigate through events, volunteer opportunities and to donate. A community stream feature will also enable users to share messages, locations and photos from Special Olympics sports and events, and link to social media, such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Both parties see the potential of harnessing the strengths of Special Olympics' robust grassroots network, coupled with a mobile, social experience. For example, direct message capabilities will allow for up-to-the-minute information to more groups of participants and volunteers than ever before.
