The Boston Consulting Group Announces Three New Offices Following Double-Digit Growth in 2010

BOSTON, MA--(Marketwire - March 24, 2011) - The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) announced today that it has recently opened two new offices -- in Tel Aviv and Perth -- enlarging its global footprint to 71 offices in 41 countries. It also announced plans to open a new office in Rio de Janeiro later this year.

The announcements follow a strong 2010 for BCG, with the firm posting a double-digit gain in worldwide revenues despite the challenging economic environment. Revenues grew 12 percent at constant exchange rates, to $3.05 billion. In addition, the firm increased its worldwide consulting staff by 8 percent, to 4,800.

"BCG's strong growth and our growing global footprint are a real tribute to the talent of our people. Even in these volatile times, our people have an outstanding ability to work together with our clients to generate great value," said Hans-Paul Bürkner, BCG's president and CEO. "We feel that now is a good time to be expanding so that we can better serve existing clients and more easily reach new ones."

Tel Aviv is BCG's first office in Israel and its third office in the Middle East, following the 2007 opening of offices in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. The addition of Perth expands the firm's network in Australia to four offices: Canberra was opened in 2009, and both Sydney and Melbourne were founded in 1990. Rio will be BCG's second office in Brazil after São Paulo, founded in 1997.

"Tel Aviv is one of the world's leading innovation hot spots, ranking second behind the U.S. in the number of companies listed on Nasdaq. It is a critical location for serving businesses throughout the Middle East," noted Bürkner. "Perth broadens and deepens our presence in Australia, allowing us to work more directly with the important business and government communities there. Rio, in one of the world's most important developing economies, will also bring many new opportunities for impact."
