The Boston Consulting Group Is One of Only Three Firms to Make the Top 15 of FORTUNE's '100 Best Companies to Work For' List for Five Straight Years

Showing Rare Consistency, Firm Makes the Top 10 Again in 2010 and Earns Top Honors Among Consultancies for the Fifth Year in a Row

BOSTON, MA--(Marketwire - January 22, 2010) - The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) has earned the distinction of being one of only three firms to be ranked in the top 15 of FORTUNE's "100 Best Companies to Work For" list for five consecutive years.

An emphasis on employee development, a collaborative culture, extensive training, and progressive benefits contributed to the strong performance -- the best among consulting firms for the fifth straight year.

Despite the economic downturn, BCG was among those companies on FORTUNE's 2010 list with the best benefits and the highest pay. The firm's benefits include full coverage of employee health-care premiums, three months of paid maternity leave, and a bonus deposited in a retirement plan.

"We are delighted to be ranked near the top of FORTUNE's Best Companies list for the fifth year in a row," said Rich Lesser, BCG's chairman of North and South America. "Attracting great people and maintaining an environment in which they rapidly develop and flourish are key to our success and our ability to deliver enormous value to clients. Honors like this are a nice acknowledgement that our efforts are highly unusual and, based on our growth and client retention, effective."

For the past five years, BCG's position on the Best Companies list has fluctuated between number three and number eleven. The only other companies to be ranked in the top 15 for five straight years are Wegmans Food Markets and W.L. Gore & Associates, a manufacturer best known for its Gore-Tex fabric.

This year's 100 Best Companies list and related stories appear in the February 8 issue of FORTUNE, available on newsstands on Monday, January 25, and now at www.fortune.com/bestcompanies.

About FORTUNE's Methodology

To pick the 100 Best Companies, FORTUNE partners with the Great Place to Work Institute to conduct the most extensive employee survey in corporate America. Two-thirds of a company's score is based on the results of the Institute's Trust Index survey, which is sent to a random sample of employees from each company. The survey asks questions related to their attitudes about the management's credibility, job satisfaction, and camaraderie. The other third of the scoring is based on the company's responses to the Institute's Culture Audit, which includes detailed questions about pay and benefit programs and a series of open-ended questions about hiring, communication, and diversity.
