The Boston Consulting Group's New Public Sector Leader Headlines Consulting Magazine's Top 25 Consultants for 2011

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - May 23, 2011) - Joe Davis, Senior Partner and Americas Leader for the new Public Sector practice at The Boston Consulting Group, headlines Consulting magazine's Top 25 Consultants for 2011. After starting the practice from scratch just two years ago, Davis has brought BCG inside the Beltway in a big way -- working with the U.S. Treasury Department, The SEC, the FDIC and the U.S. Postal Service.

Rather than change BCG to fit the Washington way, Davis stayed focused on what the firm does best. "If you're working with the federal government on the biggest issues of the day, that is no different than the private sector work we do so well," Davis says. "I knew what type of work we'd be doing -- the work we do best. That was the idea."

In addition to Mr. Davis, the Top 25 Consultants of 2011 are comprised of professionals -- including eight founders and CEOs -- from leading consultancies, including: Accenture, A.T. Kearney, Bain & Company, Booz & Company, Deloitte Consulting, Ernst & Young, IBM and PwC. To see the full list of 2011 winners, and read their stories, visit or see the May/June issue of Consulting.

"We were incredibly impressed with the 400 or so nominations we received this year. Each year, the Top 25 nominations get stronger, and this year we heard from a lot more clients than we normally do, which is fantastic," says Consulting Editor-in-Chief, Joe Kornik. "It looks like we're finally turning the corner and companies are tired of trying to cost cut their way to success. Instead they are investing again, and they are turning to consultants to help them with a variety of business functions across all sectors."

The Top 25 Consultants were recognized in the following areas: Leadership, Client Service, Healthcare, Financial Services, Public Sector, Retail and Technology. Consulting magazine will honor The Top 25 recipients at a gala awards dinner at the St. Regis Hotel in New York City on June 8. To learn more about the gala dinner, visit
