Boxxer Gold Corp.: Sampling Extends Zone of Copper Mineralization at Oro Amigo

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - July 7, 2008) - Boxxer Gold Corp (TSX VENTURE:BXX) ("Boxxer" or the "Corporation") announces results from an ongoing surface exploration program on its 100% owned Boss project located in the Goodsprings Mining District, southern Nevada. The current program includes detailed mapping and sampling of five zones of mineralization located within the 14,000 foot long alteration zone, preliminary metallurgical test work and petrographic studies. The locations of the zones of copper-gold mineralization located within the Boss project are shown in Figure -1. It is important to note that the actual dimensions of the mineralized zones shown on Figure -1 have not been determined.

Mr. Elmer Stewart, President and CEO of Boxxer stated, "The recent results support a skarn related copper porphyry exploration model similar to the Robinson District at Ely, Nevada. Our understanding of the alteration and controls on mineralization on the Boss property has advanced substantially over the past few months which dictate that additional detailed mapping and sampling on many of the mineralized zones is warranted. Now that the surface exploration of the Boss Mine, Boss Extension and Oro Amigo zones has been completed, drill hole locations have been selected for these targets. The next phase of the surface exploration program will focus on the area located between the Boss Extension and the Oro Amigo zones".

Highlights:

- Channel samplings at Oro Amigo including the Southwest adit has extended the zone of copper-gold-platinum-palladium-silver mineralization both along strike and down dip,

- the textures (marble), mineralization and the presence of chlorite in the altered rocks provide additional evidence for an intrusion underlying the Boss property, and

- Lamprophyre dikes in the Boss # 3 zone indicate a more complex magmatic history for the Goodsprings District that originally thought.

Oro Amigo:

Sampling (sample # OA-54-08) of a pit that was not previously sampled has extended the mineralized zone by approximately 15 metres to the northeast. In addition, one channel sample (OA-53-08) was collected approximately 10 metres down dip from sample number OA-52-08 in the Southwest adit (see news release dated April 22, 2008). Results of this sampling are shown below.

Petrographic Studies

Boss Extension:

Petrographic studies on 18 representative samples of the various lithologies and alterations from within the Boss Mine and Boss Extension area has returned the following observations:

a) the intrusive mapped in this area is of quartz bearing monzonite/quartz monzodiorite composition,

b) all samples of the coarse-grained dolomite alteration except one contains disseminated chalcopyrite and copper oxide mineralization

c) several of the samples are estimated to contain up to 15% chlorite, and

d) at least two generations of silicification as replacement and veinlets cross cut the dolomite alteration.

A description of the zones of copper-gold-platinum-palladium-silver mineralization in the Boss Extension area was announced in News Releases dated April 22 and May 15, 2008.

Breccia Zone:

This zone is located between the Ironside zone and the Oro Amigo zone. Petrographic studies on a grab sample indicate that the source of the high zinc-lead-silver assays is massive hemimorphite (zinc silicate) and cerrusite (lead oxide) (see News release dated March 19, 2004). The Breccia zone measures approximately 220 metres wide by 375 metres long. Previous sampling returned significant concentrations of copper (0.02% to 1.3%), lead (0.01% to 12.3%), zinc (0.04% to greater than 30%), silver (0.7 to 711 g/t), gold (trace to 0.51 g/t) and molybdenum (1 to 597 ppm). A number of gossanous samples from the Breccia Zone yielded high grade zinc and lead values, including:

9384 0.20 greater than 30.0 4.7 58.6 0.29

Information for above samples was previously announced on March 19, 2004.

Metallurgical Test Work:

A total of 170 kilograms of mineralized material from the Boss and Oro Amigo zones has been delivered to G & T Metallurgical Services Ltd. located in Kamloops, British Columbia for preliminary metallurgical test work. The test work to be completed comprises a series of tests to obtain preliminary information on hardness, optimal crush size, grind calibrations, preliminary metal recoveries and to prepare a flotation concentrate. The test results are expected to be received in the third quarter of 2008.

Boss # 3:

This zone consists of two levels separated by a vertical distance of approximately 100 metres. Detailed mapping of the Upper level indicates widespread (approximately 30 metres by 15 metres and 40 metres depth) copper oxide mineralization hosted in coarse dolomite from the portal to the end of the workings. A showing of copper oxide mineralization was also located in outcrop approximately 25 metres east of the Upper Level portal. Mafic dikes intrude the dolomite alteration on both levels of this zone. The Lower level consists of crystalline dolomite and does not contain visible copper oxide mineralization. Five representative samples from both levels have been submitted for analysis. Contingent on results, continuous systematic channel sampling of these working are planned.

Future Exploration Program:

Boxxer plans to continue detailed mapping and sampling including petrographic studies in all areas where previous sampling indicates the presence of copper-gold-platinum-palladium-silver mineralization. This work will concentrate on the Ironside NE zone and the Breccia zone. Boxxer is also attempting to locate a diamond drill for testing the Boss Extension, Boss Mine and Oro Amigo zones in either September or October.

Indin Lake:

The Corporation has completed its due diligence of the Indin lake gold project located in the Northwest Territories and advises that it is not proceeding with the transaction outlined in a news release dated March 14, 2008.

Boss Property - Equity Conversion of Lease Payment:

Subject to regulatory approval, an agreement has been reached with one of the 50% private patented claim landowners of the Boss property in Nevada, to convert the monthly lease payments into common shares of Boxxer. Under terms of the agreement the landowner will receive 337,500 common shares in lieu of the US$1,500 monthly lease payments for the eighteen month period effective January 1, 2008 through June 30, 2009.

Sample Preparation and Analysis:

All channel samples were collected with a hammer and chisel and represent continuous sampling of the material within the sample interval. Sample weights ranged from 2 to 4 kilograms and sample intervals ranged from 1 to 3.4 metres. All samples were prepared ALS Chemex laboratory in Winnemucca, Nevada and were analyzed by ALS Chemex in Vancouver, British Columbia using PGM- ICP 23 for gold, platinum and palladium and ME-ICP41 for silver and copper and other metals. ALS Chemex's quality system complies with the requirements for the International Standards ISO9001:2000 and ISO 17025:1999. Analytical accuracy and precision are monitored by the use of international and in-house standards.

Quality Control

Boxxer follows a rigorous Quality Assurance/Quality Control program consisting of inserting blanks and duplicates into the sample stream submitted to the laboratory for analysis.

Elmer B. Stewart, MSc. P. Geol., President of Boxxer, is the Corporation's nominated Qualified Person pursuant to National Instrument #43-101, Standards for Disclosure for Mineral Projects, has reviewed the technical information disclosed in this news release.
