Boy Scouts of America, Troop 15 Receives $1,000 From Wells Fargo on Behalf of Acordia Volunteer Service Award Winner

CHICAGO, IL -- (MARKET WIRE) -- August 22, 2005 -- Acordia, Inc., a Wells Fargo Company, announced today that Stuart Lewis, an Acordia Vice President in Knoxville, Tenn., received the 2005 Volunteer Service Award from Wells Fargo in recognition of the valuable contributions he has made to Boy Scouts of America, Troop 15. Wells Fargo will contribute $1,000 to Boy Scouts of America, Troop 15 in Lewis' honor.

Through a multitude of various community service projects, Boy Scouts of America, Troop 15, helps to enhance the quality of life in the community in which it serves. Lewis has been a volunteer for the Boy Scouts of America in Knoxville for more than 11 years, and has devoted over 12 hours per week to Scouting for the past five years as the Troop's Scoutmaster. Lewis currently serves as Troop 15's Assistant Scoutmaster and also serves as the Camping Committee Chairman for the Great Smoky Mountain Council, which covers a 21-county area in East Tennessee and serves approximately 20,000 Scouts.

The Volunteer Service Award Program gives Wells Fargo team members the chance to win up to $50,000 for the non-profit organization or K-12 school where they volunteer. Lewis is one of 164 Wells Fargo team members and one of five Acordia team members across the country to receive a Volunteer Service Award this year. In total, $320,000 will be awarded to the winners' organizations. Winners are chosen based on the team member's dedication to the organization, effectiveness of their work, amount of personal time volunteered and the value of their work to their community.
