BP Alternative Energy Completes $215 Million Windfarm in Indiana, an Industrial Info News Alert

SUGAR LAND, TX--(Marketwire - May 6, 2008) - Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas) -- Benton County Wind Farm LLC, a subsidiary of BP Alternative Energy North America Incorporated (Oakville, California), has completed construction and began operation of a $215 million, 130-megawatt (MW) windfarm in Benton County in Fowler, Indiana. Fifty-four of the 87 wind turbines are in operation and supplying 81 MW of renewable power to Duke Energy (NYSE:DUK) under a 20-year power-purchasing agreement for up to 100 MW. WindConnect, a division of RMT Incorporated and a subsidiary of Alliant Energy Corporation (NYSE:LNT), provided the turnkey engineering, procurement and construction services for the project.
