Automated Policy Management Offers Members Secure Network Access to Educational Institutions in More Than 60 Countries

CAMBRIDGE, MA--(Marketwired - May 14, 2013) -  Bradford Networks™, the best choice to secure network access for BYOD, today announced that its patented network access control (NAC) solution, Network Sentry, supports eduroam (EDUcation ROAMing), the secure, worldwide roaming access service developed for the international research and education community. Through this support, universities worldwide can enable Bring-Your-Own-Device (BYOD) across their campuses while providing secure network access for both their own domain users and visiting eduroam users.

eduroam is an access service that allows students, researchers and staff at participating institutions to automatically obtain Internet connectivity when visiting participating institutions simply by turning on their laptops and/or mobile devices. Network Sentry significantly simplifies the setup and management of eduroam and enables IT administrators to use a single SSID to support both visiting eduroam users and its own domain users. Network Sentry automatically provisions network access to both visiting eduroam users and local users based on the university's pre-defined policies for each user type -- staff, students, faculty, guests etc.
