Bradford Networks Named a "Visionary" in the Magic Quadrant for Network Access Control

Fueled by Technology Integrations and Continued Product Innovation, Bradford Networks Lauded for Completeness of Vision and Ability to Execute

CAMBRIDGE, MA--(Marketwired - Dec 18, 2013) - Bradford Networks™, the best choice to secure the mobile enterprise, today announced it has been positioned by Gartner, Inc. in the "Visionaries" quadrant of the 2013 "Magic Quadrant for Network Access Control1." 2013 was a banner year for Bradford Networks, driven by increased demand for solutions that effectively mitigate risk and embrace the growing volume of mobile devices while securing the network.

According to the report, "NAC vendors are beginning to differentiate their solutions through their breadth of integrations with other products. Partnerships with mobile device management (MDM) vendors have become an important factor in the NAC market, as NAC solutions rely on input from MDM solutions for information about the status and configuration of mobile devices. Enterprises are increasingly integrating their NAC implementations with other security components. Integrations with security information and event management (SIEM) are the most common, followed by integrations with next-generation firewalls (NGFWs). Several vendors provide bidirectional integrations, so that NAC solutions can share data and also act on alerts from these systems (for example, removing a device from the network). Some vendors have also begun to integrate their NAC solutions with advanced threat defense offerings to remove compromised endpoints from the network."

Bradford Networks provides organizations with the most flexible and comprehensive security solution that delivers complete visibility and control over all mobile devices on the network. In 2013, the company revolutionized the NAC market with the release of its SmartEdge Platform, which enables industry-leading security, mobility management, and wired/wireless vendors to integrate with Network Sentry to extend and enhance visibility, control, and automated remediation out to the very edge of customers' networks. To this end, in 2013, Bradford Networks delivered on its strategy and formed additional technology partnerships and integrations with leading vendors including Brocade, Fiberlink, FireEye, MobileIron, and Xirrus.

"The volume and types of mobile devices on enterprise networks are constantly changing, challenging organizations to support this growth while securing their networks," said Dan Haley, CEO of Bradford Networks. "Bradford Networks was the first NAC company to recognize the need for a fully integrated NAC solution that addresses these challenges. We believe that Bradford Networks' placement in the Gartner Magic Quadrant validates yet again that we continue to be the trailblazer for innovative, secure solutions that protect enterprise networks."

Over the past year, Bradford Networks continued to enhance its award-winning Network Sentry NAC solution, which was granted two new U.S. patents for its technology innovation. The company also expanded its capabilities through its Network Sentry/Analytics solution, which analyzes long-term network access data to provide a unique perspective on network trends. Additionally, Bradford Networks launched a cloud offering, making it the only company that can now deploy in a physical, virtual and cloud-based NAC architecture.

The company continues to maintain its leadership in the education industry and during the year further enhanced its Network Sentry solution with support for eduroam (EDUcation ROAMing), enabling universities worldwide to provide secure network access for both their own domain users and visiting users from other eduroam-enabled campuses.

In addition, Bradford Networks strengthened its worldwide distribution network during the year, adding resellers and distributors across the globe, including Apollo Information Systems, Atom Creek, Ballintrae, CipherWire Networks, Cloud Harmonics, Compututor, Consultech International, e92plus, Fine Tec, Hi-Wire Communications, Innovation Network Technology Corp., JDL Technologies, Key2Storage, Nametek, Netaxcom, Netvious, Open3S, PC Solutions & Integration, Secure Sense Solutions, Solid Border, TechStrata, The Douglas Stewart Company, Virtual Graffiti, VLCM, Wellingham Group, and Wireless Watchdogs.

As a result, the company's global distribution now extends into new and existing regions including Australia, Bahamas, Canada, Egypt, Iceland, Japan, Malaysia, Norway, South Africa, Tasmania, United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom and across Europe, and the United States.
