Bradford Networks Releases Network Sentry 6.2 to Empower Every Educational Institution to Deliver Secure Network Access Across Their Campuses

Newest Version of Network Sentry Supports Microsoft's Hyper-V Server; Provides New Integrations With MobileIron and MaaS360 MDM Solutions

ANAHEIM, CA--(Marketwired - Oct 15, 2013) - EDUCAUSE -- Bradford Networks™, the best choice to enable secure BYOD, today unveiled the latest version of Network Sentry to empower educational institutions to ensure secure network access across their campuses. Network Sentry 6.2 includes support for Microsoft's Hyper-V Server and enhanced integrations with leading MDM solutions from MobileIron and MaaS360. This new version makes it easier and more cost effective for schools of any size to take advantage of the benefits of NAC to address their unique security challenges with minimum management overhead.

Bradford Networks will be demonstrating Network Sentry 6.2 in booth #1518 at EDUCAUSE 2013, in Anaheim, CA, October 16-17. In addition, customer Utah Valley University (UVU) will be presenting a conference session entitled "Getting Schooled on BYOD at Utah Valley University: Lessons Learned," on Oct. 16, 2013, from 3:40 - 4:30 p.m. PDT in room 209A/B.

"With thousands of students bringing three, four, even fourteen devices onto campus, network access control is no longer a nice to have in education, it's an imperative," said Tom Murphy, CMO, Bradford Networks. "As the NAC vendor of choice for over 600 educational institutions around the globe, Bradford Networks is always at the forefront of innovation. We aim to provide all educational organizations with cost-effective solutions that address their network security needs. This is why we recently introduced support for eduroam, why we've now added support for Hyper-V, and why we offer multiple deployment options, including NAC delivered via a cloud service, to suit any organization's size and budget."

New features of Network Sentry 6.2 include:

  • Support for Microsoft Hyper-V Server 2013: Many schools are transitioning to cloud and virtualized services. To support this trend, Network Sentry can now run on the Microsoft Hyper-V Server 2012, thereby reducing hardware and energy costs and centralizing and simplifying NAC administration.
  • Enhanced MDM Integrations: In addition to AirWatch and MobileIron, this latest release of Network Sentry integrates with the MaaS360 Mobile Device Management (MDM) solution to combine device-level security with network access security and deliver a holistic solution for BYOD.
  • Integrated RADIUS Server: Network Sentry offers an integrated RADIUS server for a quick and easy deployment of authentication/authorization services for easier on-boarding, guest management, and 802.1x implementation.

Network Sentry Version 6.2 is generally available and can be deployed as an appliance or virtual appliance. It is also available through Bradford Networks recently announced NAC delivered via a cloud service.
