Braintech Ships Bulk Order of eVF™ Licenses to ABB

ABB TrueView™ System Orders Expand

VANCOUVER, BC -- (MARKET WIRE) -- April 18, 2007 -- Braintech Inc. (OTCBB: BRHI), a leading provider of Vision Guided Robotic ("VGR") software technologies, announced today that it has shipped fifty (50) eVF software runtime licenses to ABB, Inc. (NYSE: ABB), in accordance with the terms of the Exclusive Global Channel Partner Agreement signed by the two companies in April 2006. This shipment represents a dollar value of approximately $740,000. These licenses are being used to fill orders for an expanding user base of ABB's TrueView Vision Guided Robotic systems (powered by Braintech's eVF robot vision software).

Steven West, ABB's TrueView's Business Development Manager, states, "I'm excited by the increased level of interest in TrueView systems throughout our global customer base. In North America existing customers are ordering many more TrueView systems, new customers are ordering their first systems, and automation engineering firms are signing on as channel partners. In Europe, after several initial successful installations, we're seeing the same pattern of expansion. In Japan and China we're starting our first installations and expect business increases greater than those in North America."

Steven further says, "Because of the reliability and usefulness of the first 125 plus TrueView installations and because of increasing customer demand, we are planning a comprehensive sales and marketing campaign to explain the value and benefits of TrueView. We'll kick off at the Robot and Vision Show being held in Chicago, June 12-15, 2007."

Owen Jones, Braintech's CEO and Chairman, says, "We continue to see ABB develop the VGR market world-wide and expect growth to continue past 2012. Over this period, Braintech will focus on the research and development of core robot vision technologies in order to broaden the usefulness of TrueView in automotive and general industries."
