Brandes Investment Partners Announces Executive Appointments

SAN DIEGO, CA--(Marketwire - Dec 15, 2011) - Brandes Investment Partners, L.P., a global leader in value investing, today announced a series of executive appointments to better align and extend its client service, sales and marketing capabilities.

  • Oliver Murray, was appointed Managing Director, Portfolio Management Client Services. Mr. Murray will be responsible for the firm's global client service, sales and marketing.

  • Jim Diack, was named Global Head of Institutional Business Development. Mr. Diack will be responsible for institutional sales worldwide.

  • Ian Sunder, Director - EMEA Portfolio Management, will manage the Geneva office, which serves clients in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA).

"As a result, we are re-aligning our people and resources to most effectively meet the needs of existing clients, while also extending our offerings to new private clients and institutions around the world.

Mr. Murray has over 25 years of industry experience. He joined Brandes in 2002, and also serves as Chief Executive Officer for Brandes' operations in Canada. Mr. Murray will continue to serve in that role, spending time in both Toronto and San Diego.

Mr. Diack has 25 years of industry experience. For the past 14 years, he has led Brandes' business expansion in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. More recently, he has led the effort to promote from within the firm to create an institutional sales force.

Mr. Sunder has more than 21 years of experience, and 15 years at Brandes. He has served as an institutional portfolio manager, senior product specialist, and relationship manager for several of the firm's large institutional clients.
