Brandman University's School of Extended Education Encourages California PreK-12 Districts to Utilize Grant Funds for Technical Development by September 25 Deadline

Vouchers Reimburse Teachers for Brandman University's Microsoft Desktop Application Courses

IRVINE, CA--(Marketwired - May 29, 2013) - Brandman University's School of Extended Education -- the entrepreneurial division of Brandman University -- is urging California school districts to allocate their "use it or lose it" funding by September 25 to take advantage of training programs like the School of Extended Ed's Microsoft Desktop Application Courses that enhance technical expertise in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Many districts and charter schools have access to substantial amounts of unused funding for the Education Technology K-12 Voucher Program, a grant program that reimburses eligible K-12 schools for professional development services. Administrators are encouraged to visit www.edtechk12vp.com to determine how much funding is available to them.

"Brandman's program designed in conjunction with New Horizons (an approved provider for the voucher program) allows schools to purchase training prior to the September 25 deadline and revisit content any time in the next 12 months," says Vicki Brannock, director at the School of Extended Education. "It's our goal to make it simple and painless for schools to take advantage of these valuable resources. CE credit is available at no additional charge to those who complete a reflection paper at the end of the course."

Brandman's Microsoft Desktop Application Courses were developed in partnership with New Horizons of Southern California, an approved technical training provider through the Education Technology K-12 Voucher Program. They are self-paced online courses that take students from basic to advanced concepts with online access to learning modules.
