Brandman University's School of Extended Education Recognizes National Payroll Week, Offers Courses for Industry Professionals

IRVINE, CA--(Marketwired - Aug 28, 2013) - Brandman University's School of Extended Education, the entrepreneurial division of Brandman University, is recognizing National Payroll Week, September 2-7, 2013. The observance, led by the American Payroll Association, celebrates the hard work of America's 156 million wage earners and the payroll professionals who are responsible for ensuring they're compensated.

Brandman University's School of Extended Education will participate in the Southern California Payroll Focus Day on September 19, a joint effort between the American Payroll Association's Southern California chapters to increase payroll professionals' skills through education. Attendees are invited to meet with Brandman at the vendor fair to learn more about its courses for new and experienced industry professionals.

The School of Extended Education offers several online courses for payroll professionals to earn certifications and advance their careers.

• In cooperation with the American Payroll Association, the School of Extended Education provides PayTrain Certification Exam Preparation courses. A fundamentals program is available for new hires looking to understand the payroll industry; and a mastery course is designed for seasoned professionals, payroll managers and supervisors seeking compliance training, professional development or CPP certification preparation. Both programs feature open enrollment, with start dates this September.
• The Practical Payroll Online Series is a set of short online courses that focus on specific subject matter areas of interest to payroll professionals, including taxation and compensation, and federal and state wage-and-hour laws. Designed for professionals at beginner and advanced levels, the Practical Payroll Online Series courses can be taken in any order and are offered on an open enrollment basis, with sessions beginning in October 2013. Certified payroll professionals who enroll in these courses are eligible to earn recertification hours.
