Brand.net Selects Violin's 3200 Memory Array to Accelerate Advertising Platform

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA--(Marketwire - September 29, 2010) - Violin Memory, Inc., provider of the world's fastest and most scalable memory arrays, today announced it is working with Brand.net to support the company's ad serving platform.

Brand.net is the leading driver of offline sales through web-wide online advertising. The company's pioneering Media Futures Platform™ provides scalable media forecasting, buying, and delivery management capabilities to media agencies and their clients. Brand.net's customers include the largest agencies and brand advertisers in the world across consumer packaged goods, retail, quick service restaurant, pharma, entertainment, finance, and technology verticals.

"Violin Memory Arrays are a shared storage replacement for the SSDs we had built into our individual data servers. They let us read/write data records for any of 1 billion records inside a very short time frame (typically 2 milliseconds) using only two servers versus the twenty it took with main memory alone," said Aram Compeau, Vice President of Engineering for Brand.net.

Brand.net is using Violin Memory Arrays to:

  • Achieve random read/write latency that cannot be matched by spinning disks and is superior to other SSD solutions
  • Take advantage of better recovery and failover characteristics for servers than directly connected SSD or PCIe solutions

"We are happy to provide a solution to Brand.net that allows it to expand its business," said Matt Barletta, Vice President of Product Marketing at Violin Memory. "The Violin 3200 Memory Array was designed to provide sustained performance and spike-free latency in a shared environment. Violin is proud to help our customers take their business to the next level."
