Brazil Potash Corp. to Commence Drilling Amazonas State Potash Project

BELO HORIZONTE, BRAZIL--(Marketwire – Nov. 3, 2009) -

Brazil Potash Corp. ("Brazil Potash" or the "Company") is pleased to announce that it has awarded the contract for drilling on its extensive property in the State of Amazonas, Brazil to Boart Longyear Latin America, a subsidiary of Boart Longyear Company of Utah, USA. Mobilization of drills will commencing by mid November with drilling expected to commence by month end. All environmental permits in support of the drill campaign are in place as are access agreements with surface land holders.

The drill program will focus on two target areas within the 400-kilometer-long Amazon potash basin. Vertical drill holes of HQ diameter drill core are planned to test the extensive potash-bearing salt layer, as outlined by compiling seismic and borehole data from previous petroleum exploration in the area. Geologically the basin has many characteristics similar to the Saskatchewan and Urals Basins which are the largest potash producing basins in the world. Results from this drilling will be used to establish a NI 43-101 resource.

Helio Diniz, Managing Director, Brazil Operations, Potassio do Brasil remarks, "The project has progressed very well. Work has focused at this stage on a systematic analysis of the available petroleum and geological databases to prioritize the targets for initial drilling and to identify additional priority targets within the project area. Final planning for the initial targets is complete, field offices are established and we are excited to get the drills turning. We anticipate results within approximately six weeks of collaring the first drill hole."
