Brazil's ADIT Announces Gary Garrabrant of Equity International as Keynote Speaker at Real Estate Investment Conference

May 10-12 Conference Brings Together Investors and Developers for Projects in Brazil

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - March 14, 2011) - Luiz Henrique Lessa, President of The Association for Real Estate and Tourism Development in Brazil (ADIT) is pleased to announce Gary Garrabrant, CEO and Co-founder of Equity International (EI), as the keynote speaker in this year's Business Round Session of ADIT Invest, May 10-12, 2011 in Fortaleza, Brazil. Mr. Garrabrant founded EI with Sam Zell in 1999 and is focused on investing and building leading companies in the most compelling emerging markets. EI was an early investor in Brazil and today enjoys a dominant position with six portfolio companies including Gafisa, BR Malls, BFRE and Bracor. Garrabrant is a director of Brazilian Finance and Real Estate (BFRE) and is the former chairman of Gafisa. Garrabrant will share EI's experiences in Brazil and his vision for future development on May 10.

The Business Round of ADIT Invest is designed to introduce investors and developers from around the globe in prescheduled meetings with real estate projects focused on hotels and resorts, logistic centers, as well as residential and commercial property. Last year's Business Round session hosted 473 business meetings with the prospect revenue of USD 1 billion generated on that single day. The conference overall hosted 1450 attendees representing 16 countries. The transition of ADIT from regional to a national organization in 2010 opens the door to even greater opportunities, with representatives from each state of Brazil attending this year's conference.

Founded in 2006, ADIT is a non-profit organization funded by Associate Members, and the conference is organized in conjunction with ApexBrasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Agency) and the Ministry of Tourism. Luiz Henrique Lessa was recently appointed President of ADIT after serving as the Chief Investment Officer. Lessa brings a wealth of experience including 12 years in real estate investments, industrial development, investment management, acquisitions, financial services, and project management. ADIT's expansion now includes national as well as international members providing even greater opportunities for investors or developers. "Having Gary Garrabrant as our keynote speaker helps capture the attention of an even greater audience to this year's conference. We look forward to changing the perception of those who still have questions about Brazil while underscoring those who see the next five years as Brazil's golden age," says Lessa.
