BRDC/Lee Property: Initial Exploration Results

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(CCNMatthews - July 19, 2005) - Big Red Diamond Corporation (TSX VENTURE:DIA) has received micro-probe results for the initial samples taken from its newly acquired Lee Property.

These initial results are very positive considering they came from four (4) small till and stream sediment samples and contained a large number of grains relative to the small size of the samples. More than a quarter of the grains, identified in the June 14, 2005 press release, came from the Lee Property and immediate area. After further lab selection, 59 were identified by SEM as promising grains and processed for microprobe analysis by C.F. Minerals of Kelowna (British-Columbia).

The Company reports that it has identified grains from the full spectrum of Kimberlite Indicator Minerals (or "KIMs") and it feels that the presence of such a wide suite of indicator grains bodes well for the possibility of finding the source of these grains on the Lee property. Some of the samples were taken in a fence pattern on the property's perimeter up-ice flow from the anomaly and revealed no KIMs, which would indicate that the source of these minerals is on the property.

Of note, the micro-probe identified:
12 Orthopyroxenes (4 OP5)
16 Clinopyroxenes (2 eclogitic and 1 High Pressure eclogitic)
1 G9 garnet
1 G11 garnet
5 Eclogitic garnets
1 Chromite
4 Ilmenites
1 Olivine
1 Amphibole; as well as,
17 garnets identified as either G5 or Almandines and most likely
coming from the property or other regional sources.

In light of the promising results Big Red is now planning a systematic till sampling campaign which will include the use of an Argo-mounted Pioneer drill to obtain larger samples directly over the magnetic anomaly and would possibly be able to reach the bedrock to test for the presence of kimberlitic rocks.

The vendor has staked an additional 4 claims consisting of 19 units, 6 of which are contiguous to the original Lee Property claim with the balance covering a nearby magnetic anomaly of great interest to Big Red. As agreed to in the Lee purchase agreement these additional units are part of the original transaction.

The property represents an important addition to BRDC's portfolio of high quality diamond exploration properties and is located proximal to the recent discovery of a large kimberlite by Tres-Or Resources Ltd. and Arctic Star Diamond Corp. The Lee Property lies NNW of the new kimberlite discovery, along the Lake Timiskaming Structural Zone.
