BRG Increases Financial Services Capabilities With New Banking Advisors

EMERYVILLE, CA--(Marketwired - Aug 19, 2014) - Global strategic advisory and expert services firm Berkeley Research Group continues to expand its financial services capabilities with the addition of three experts with deep experience advising banks on risk management, credit, and regulatory compliance matters: John Maher, Jack DeWitt, and Wendi Lonnquist.

Director John H. Maher, based in BRG's New York and Los Angeles offices, has over 25 years of financial industry and advisory experience and specializes in commercial financial services governance, consumer compliance, and credit risk management. He advises clients with credit-related services, risk management, strategic planning and development, regulatory compliance, and organizational design. His clients include domestic and international banks and nonbank financial services providers. He was previously senior vice president and head of international strategic development at a major financial group in New York and Boston.

Principal Jack DeWitt, based in the firm's Los Angeles and Washington, DC, offices, has extensive experience in regulatory oversight of commercial banks, mortgage companies, bank holding companies, and international banking agencies, including enterprise-wide risk management, vendor/third-party risk management, credit risk management, credit modeling, loan loss reserve methodology, board of directors training, governance structure, and strategic planning. He also has experience in all aspects of compliance, with particular emphasis on Volcker Rule and Consumer Financial Protection Bureau preparedness.

Principal Wendi Lonnquist, based in BRG's Los Angeles office, has over 25 years of experience as a compliance consultant, compliance examiner, and community banker. She has advised clients, including banks and nonbank financial institutions, on risk management, credit, and regulatory compliance matters, including Bank Secrecy Act and Anti-Money Laundering issues, consumer compliance matters, fair lending, and Community Reinvestment Act and Consumer Financial Protection Bureau standards.
