Brian Bell of Compellent Recognized as a 2011 Channel Chief by Everything Channel's CRN

Bell Recognized for Leading Record Customer Growth and Expansion of Training and Support for Channel Partners

EDEN PRAIRIE, MN--(Marketwire - February 21, 2011) - Compellent today announced that Brian Bell, vice president of sales, has been named a 2011 Channel Chief by the Everything Channel's CRN. The Channel Chiefs are recognized as leaders in creating effective channel programs for solution providers. They consistently defend, promote and execute effective channel partner programs and strategies for their companies.

Over the past year, the Compellent channel sales organization under Brian Bell has delivered record customer growth. The total number of customers worldwide rose from approximately 1,600 in 2009 to more than 2,500 in 2010, representing growth of more than 56 percent. Also under Bell, Compellent's increased focus on strategic channel partners has enabled the company to garner new enterprise customers, such as McKesson, Heineken Netherlands and Canadian Tire Financial Services. This marks the second time Bell has been named a Channel Chief, following his appointment to the list in 2009. In 2010, Michael Beach, Compellent's vice president of sales operations, was also named a Channel Chief.

For the ninth consecutive year the Channel Chiefs were selected based on criteria from Everything Channel's editorial staff including policy and program innovations made during the past year, the amount of revenue their company generates through partners, their willingness to speak publicly on behalf of the channel, and the number of years they have dedicated to building a channel program.
