NEW YORK, NY and SHANGHAI, CHINA--(Marketwired - Jun 2, 2014) - BRIC Language Systems, shortly after partnering with Shanghai Normal University to provide an MBA level course has formed another strategic alliance with Omeida Chinese Academy. In developing a relationship with Omeida, BRIC has found another world-class partner to provide customers with additional options for their China immersion courses. The program features real life experiences in China's most exhilarating city, Shanghai. Followed by exploration and relaxation in the picturesque mountains of Yangshuo, famous for hiking, rock-climbing, and natural beauty.
Prior to leaving, students take part in BRIC's private online Mandarin courses, which have proven highly popular amongst young professionals and corporate partners. According to Ryan McMunn, Founder & CEO at BRIC Language, "Our live online classes are customized to each student and make learning fun. This allows them to hit the ground running when they arrive in Shanghai allowing for a more enjoyable experience while there."
On arrival at Shanghai's Pudong International Airport travelers are transported by private car to their accommodations in downtown Puxi, the center of Shanghai. Travelers spend the week doing face-to-face private lessons in a full immersion environment. This isn't like Rosetta Stone, where customers sit in front of a computer screen. This is the real thing, and actually being done in China.
During their one-week stay in Shanghai students feel the excitement of being at the epicenter of China's growth. Through trips to YuYuan Garden, People's Square, Urban Planning Center, Tianzifang and more they are exposed to the culture as well as some cultural curiosities like the Marriage Market. In addition to exploring Shanghai, students are taken on a day trip with options to venture see Nanjing, Suzhou, or Hangzhou some of the Yangtze River Delta's most historic cities. Another option is to gain some insight on how business works in China with a local business tour. Exposing these business adventurers to the fast paced world of Chinese business.
After a week in Shanghai, many first time travelers are overwhelmed with all they have seen, a trip to Yangshuo gives BRIC customers the opportunity to slow things down. While in Yangshuo, students learn about traditional Chinese culture and enjoy the natural scenery.
Afternoons are dedicated to exploring Yangshuo's beautiful mountains and waterways while learning about Chinese traditions. Activities include Tai Chi, cycling in the countryside, bamboo rafting, Chinese painting, Chinese calligraphy, Chinese cooking, and rock climbing.
As well as discovering Yangshuo -- China's most scenic town -- a day trip to nearby ancient fishing village, Xingping, gives students the opportunity to explore the cobbled streets and scenic surroundings of a place that was once the largest city along the Li River. There are a number of optional hikes including to the top of Mount Lao Zhai Shan for magnificent views of the river and surrounding mountains.
The experience of visiting two diverse locations in China provides students with valuable insight into one of the world's oldest civilizations and fastest growing economies. Students leave China speaking Mandarin Chinese, with a deep understanding of two facets of Chinese society, the traditional and cultural roots along with its economic might.
