Bridges and American School Counselor Association Co-Sponsor Web-Based Learning for Educators

KELOWNA, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - June 7, 2005) - Bridges Transitions Inc. (TSX:BIT), a leading provider of student achievement products, and the American School Counselor Association (ASCA), a nonprofit organization serving more than 17,000 counseling professionals worldwide, announced today the release of their co-sponsored Fall Webinar Program. This web-based professional development program enables school counselors anywhere to access the expertise of national leaders in counselor education. Seventeen presenters will provide 60 - 90 minute 'webinars' five different times during the fall program, which runs from September 26 to November 30. Up to 15 educators in each webinar will receive high quality tools and tips from experts in a variety of counseling fields. Counselors pay $59 to attend the training session, $49 if they are an ASCA member.

Richard Wong, ASCA executive director, says: "This initiative allows us to support counselors nationwide as they implement the ASCA National Model and address their professional development needs, allowing them to serve their students better."

Doug Manning, Bridges president and co-founder, sees great promise for web-based learning: "Webinars provide a very efficient and effective way to equip counselors with what they need to reach more students in meaningful ways. Quality professional development is the key to supporting effective school reform and improved graduation rates."

Both partners play key roles in providing the webinar programs. ASCA is responsible for identifying webinar topics and presenters. The association also provides interested participants with Continuing Education Units, vital for educators to retain their professional status. Bridges provides the online cataloging, registration, presentation, and evaluation tools to coordinate webinar services. Bridges also trains presenters in effective webinar techniques.

The ASCA/Bridges Fall Webinar Program Catalog can be viewed at: http://www.bridges.com/us/training/professionalwebinars.html. Registrations are now available for interested webinar participants. ASCA and Bridges will also provide a webinar program for counselors in the spring of 2006.
