Bridgewater, NJ Celebrates Green Your Town Day With Street Naming Ceremony at Municipal Complex

Seventh Generation Honors Township With Green Your Town Home Makeover and Green Home Kits to Residents

BURLINGTON, VT--(Marketwire - Nov 18, 2011) - All roads lead to Green Street in Bridgewater, NJ! Seventh Generation, the nation's most trusted brand of environmentally friendly household and personal care products, is celebrating Bridgewater's responsibility to the environment and promoting greener practices with the ceremonial naming of the town's newest thoroughfare "Green Street," located at the entrance of its new LEED-designed municipal complex. The street will be ceremonially changed to Green Street for the day in honor of Green Your Town Day and the township's commitment to green practices.

Seventh Generation announced the start of its Green Your Town promotion during Earth Month, in which one lucky winner would be rewarded with a $10,000 green home makeover and 1,000 neighbors with a green home kit ($55 value) complete with Seventh Generation products. The Green Street celebration will not only honor Bridgewater, NJ resident Meena Shah with the presentation of a $10,000 green home makeover grand prize, but the entire township of Bridgewater for their dedication to living a green, healthy lifestyle.

"We truly commend Meena Shah and the residents of Bridgewater for promoting greener practices and making sustainability a part of everyday life," says John Replogle, CEO, Seventh Generation. "It's not every day that we see a township come together to make a difference and we're honored to continue to help fuel their movement by greening the town of Bridgewater, NJ."

In addition to employing "Thinking Green," a helpful guide for green initiatives, Bridgewater Township currently has received Sustainable Jersey certification at the bronze level. The Sustainable Jersey Program recognizes towns that excel in areas such as improving energy efficiency and health and wellness, smart land use and transportation, reducing waste, sustaining local economics, protecting natural resources and addressing diversity and equity.

"We're grateful to be honored by Seventh Generation and would like to congratulate Meena Shah and all of our residents for taking an active role in a movement that we care so deeply about," said James Rokosny, Chairperson of the Township Environmental Commission and Sustainability Task Force.
