Brigadier Gold Limited: Visible Gold Found On M Island

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - July 21, 2005) - Brigadier Gold Limited (TSX VENTURE:BRG) is pleased to report that when geologist Val Volodine was removing blasted rock from Trench B on M Island, he noted a piece of broken rock containing coarse native gold flecks visible to the naked eye over a five millimetre segment in a slightly smoky quartz vein. He also noted a one millimetre diameter fleck of gold also associated with a smoky quartz vein in another piece of broken rock. These were random finds of visible gold discovered as Mr. Volodine was cleaning out the trench and not actively looking for gold. Brigadier Gold Limited believes that these finds of visible gold point to the veracity of the 1930's assay results. However, the portable gas rock saw channel sampling to be commenced shortly will be necessary to ultimately confirm the historical assays.

In addition, after blasting Trench B, 13 random and 10 selected samples were taken from the broken rock located on the bottom of the trench. Results range from the detection limit of less than 0.03 grams per tonne (g/t) up to 1.78 g/t for the random samples and from less than 0.03 g/t up to 3.43 g/t for the selected samples. It is believed that the channel samples to yet be cut and collected will assay better than the random and selected samples. When Trench B was blasted it was done in three stages. The first two blasts occurred in the part of the trench having the higher historical values located near the lakeshore. The last blast occurred in the upper part of Trench B where lower historical values have been noted. Brigadier Gold Limited exploration personnel believe that this last blast covered the trench bottom with broken rock from the lower historical values and therefore resulted in lower grades in the recently analyzed random and selected samples.

M-Island is located in the Southwest Arm of Larder Lake and three historical blasted trenches on the shore of this island carry significant values in gold. The Brigadier Gold Limited exploration personnel are cleaning out these old trenches in order to resample and confirm the historical gold assays.

Allan J. Willy, P.Eng. Geologist is the qualified person managing the M-Island project and is being assisted by Val Volodine, M.Sc., Geologist.
