BrightRoll Accelerates Growth and Technology Investments to Expand Platform Leadership

Key Additions to Executive Team, Along With Dramatic Increase in Product and Engineering Talent, Drive Innovation in Programmatic Video

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwired - Nov 4, 2013) - BrightRoll, the industry's only independent and unified programmatic video ad platform, today announced the expansion of its executive team with the appointment of Brent Horowitz as vice president of business development. In this new role, Horowitz and his team are responsible for building strategic partnerships for BrightRoll across the video ad ecosystem, while managing the company's existing portfolio of more than 50 partners.

A digital advertising veteran, Horowitz brings 15 years of industry experience to BrightRoll, having worked with the largest broadcast media companies and their distribution and device partners to extend revenue operations of premium video content into all digital channels. Other additions to the BrightRoll executive team include Adolfo Castellon as vice president of engineering and Monique Ho as general counsel.

The BrightRoll team has grown nearly 70 percent since the start of 2013, and engineering and product now makes up 25 percent of all employees -- drawing key talent from companies such as Google, Salesforce, Zynga, InMobi and Ooyala. Expansion of BrightRoll talent is fueling advancements to the company's award-winning technology platform, including the BrightRoll console and ultra-low latency VideoRTB+ solution, while building platform partnerships with customers such as Kellogg.

Horowitz has also held business development roles at Homestead Technologies (acquired by Intuit) and NexTag, a leading comparison-shopping site and lead-gen engine.

Adolfo Castellon, promoted to vice president of engineering, has been with BrightRoll for three years and leads the company's world-class engineering team. With more than 15 years experience as an engineer, architect and manager, he plays a critical role in driving innovation for the BrightRoll platform.

Monique Ho, general counsel, brings more than a decade of expertise working with emerging growth technology companies. In this new position, she will oversee all legal matters at BrightRoll, including corporate governance, intellectual property, securities, compliance, regulatory and privacy.
