Brilliant Mining Corp.: 7.0% Ni Over 1.22m From First Hole on Northern Tramways Dome Drilling, Lanfranchi Nickel Mine, Kambalda District of Western Australia

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - April 22, 2008) - Brilliant Mining Corp. (TSX VENTURE:BMC) ("Brilliant" or the "Company") is pleased to announce two additional massive sulphide intersections and the continued exploration success on the Northern Dome at the Lanfranchi Nickel Mine, Kambalda District, Western Australia.

Key Point Summary

- First two surface diamond drill holes from 2008 drill program intersect massive sulphides

- 1.22m massive sulphide grading 6.98% Ni intersected in Hole TD8042

- 0.3m of massive sulphide (awaiting assays) intersected in Hole TD8043

- AU$2.5 million drill program is ongoing and down-hole EM surveys are pending

These results are further confirmation of the exploration potential on the northern side of the Tramways Dome on the projected overturned position of the high grade nickel sulphide Winner/Schmitz and Helmut/Deacon channels (See Figures 1 and 2).

The 2008 drill program on the Northern Dome has completed two diamond drill holes to date (TD8042 and TD8043). TD8042 targeted the off-hole EM anomaly in TD8039 (see Brilliant news release dated January 30, 2008) and intersected 1.22 metres grading 6.98% Ni of structurally emplaced massive sulphide mineralization at a depth of 348.1m, 7 metres below the overturned basalt/ultramafic contact ("target horizon").

TD8043 targeted the EM response produced by the massive sulphide intersection grading 7.76% Ni over 0.88m in TD8036. A 0.3m interval of structurally emplace massive sulphide mineralization was intersected at a depth of 285.7m with assays pending. A large porphyry dyke was encountered between 248 - 275.8m before passing back into ultramafic. Both holes were successfully cased and awaiting Down Hole Transient Electromagnetic ("DHTEM") surveys.

A $2.5 million, 11,000-12,000 metre, drill program is budgeted for the Northern Tramways Dome. The program will primarily entail infill drilling of previously identified mineralization and down-hole EM (DHTEM) conductive anomalies followed by deeper drill traverses within the high priority "channel facies" ultramafic corridor. In addition, drilling is planned further to the west of the existing drill fence, towards the projected overturned position of the main Lanfranchi orebody.

The project is supervised by John Williamson, P.Geol., of Edmonton, Alberta. Mr. Williamson is CEO and a Director of Brilliant, and is the qualified person as defined by National Instrument 43-101.
