Brilliant Mining Corp.: 8.39% Nickel Over 1.93 Metres

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - March 30, 2006) -

Brilliant Mining Corp. (TSX VENTURE:BMC) is pleased to announce that recent drilling on the Schmitz deposit indicates a continuation of high grade nickel 330 metres down-plunge of the lowermost production level. The Schmitz deposit is part of the Tramways Tenements, host to the producing Lanfranchi Nickel Mine, and is located in the world-class Kambalda Nickel District of Western Australia.

All seven holes of the 2006 program, to test the down-plunge extension of the past producing Schmitz ore body, have returned significant intersections of high grade nickel mineralization with Hole SMT-107 returning 8.39% nickel over 1.93 metres. The drill results are summarized in Table 1.

and (ii) March 02, 2006

The initial three drill holes of the 2006 program (SMT-103, 104 & 105) targeted the Schmitz ore body over a strike length of 45 metres (about -460mRL) approximately 20m down-plunge from the previous deepest drilling by WMC Resources. The second tier of drill holes (SMT-106A, 107 & 108), targeted the ore body 25 - 30m down plunge from the first tier of drill holes, over a strike length of 35 metres. Drill hole SMT-109 which was targeted 50 metres down plunge of the second tier of drill holes, intersected the ore body 100 metres down plunge from the second tier drill holes.

The program follows on from an initial two-hole program completed in late 2005 wherein drill hole SMT-100 intersected 5.13% nickel over 6.78 metres approximately 50 metres down-plunge from the previously deepest tier of holes drilled by WMC Resources.

Schmitz Extension Production Plans

The drilling undertaken to date by the Lanfranchi Joint Venture confirms that the Schmitz ore body continues down-plunge for at least 150 metres below the previous deepest drilling conducted by WMC Resources and 330 metres below where WMC Resources ceased mining in 2002. Work has commenced on calculating a resource estimation, preparing a detailed mine plan and performing an economic analysis on the newly defined Schmitz Extension. It is anticipated that this work will be completed during Q2 2006 and, subject to a positive determination by the Lanfranchi Joint Venture, production from the Schmitz Extension will commence during the 2nd half of 2006.

Tramway Tenements Project

The Tramways Tenements, consisting of 37 mineral leases over 50 km2, is host to the producing Lanfranchi Nickel Mine which has produced 100,900 tonnes of nickel metal over 14 years of underground mining from 1987 to 2002 equal to 10% of the total nickel metal produced from the entire world-class Kambalda Nickel District in Western Australia.

WMC Resources mined 783,562t at 4.56%Ni from Schmitz between 1991 and 2002 for 35,775t Ni contained and mined 297,781t at 4.56% Ni between 1999 and 2001 from Skinner for 14,505t Ni contained. Skinner was a small high grade ore body located immediately to the west of the Schmitz ore body.

The Lanfranchi Mine is now generating increased positive cash flow following the deliveries of ore from the high-grade Helmut South deposit. Production is on schedule with current production rates of 10,000-15,000 tonnes per month and, as a more aggressive mine plan is adopted, increased production rates are expected in the foreseeable future.

An agreement is in place for Brilliant to acquire all of the issued and outstanding shares of a private Australian company, Donegal Resources Pty. Ltd., that holds a 25% interest in the Tramways Tenements. See the Company's news releases dated February 6 and 9, 2006.

The project is supervised by John Williamson, P.Geol., of Edmonton, AB, CEO and a Director of Brilliant and is the Qualified Person as defined in National Instrument 43-101. The drilling at the Lanfranchi Project is supervised by Lanfranchi Nickel Mines Pty. Ltd. personnel and the core is analyzed at a recognized assay lab; Kalgoorlie Assay Laboratories, Kalgoorlie, Western Australia.

Brilliant Mining Corp. (BMC: TSXV) is focused on the identification, exploration and development of nickel opportunities world wide. The company currently has 3 active nickel projects in Canada including the Michikamau property in western Labrador.
