Brilliant Mining Corp.: Quarterly Nickel Ore Production and Mine Development Update Lanfranchi Nickel Mine, Kambalda District of Western Australia

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - April 30, 2007) - Brilliant Mining Corp. (TSX VENTURE:BMC) ("Brilliant" or the "Company") today reported the nickel ore production for the quarter ending March 31, 2007 ("Q1 2007") from its 25% owned Lanfranchi Nickel Mine, located in the world class Kambalda Nickel District of Western Australia.

Production

Consistent production has been achieved from the Helmut South orebody over the last three quarterly periods. Ore production reported in Q1 2007 was 52,030 tonnes at an average grade of 2.21% Ni for 1,149 tonnes (2,533,111 lbs) of contained Ni metal.

Production in Q1 2007 represents a slight decrease from the previous two quarters. This reflects the implementation of a mine strategy with emphasis on capital development in the present in order to maximize future mine production and revenues. To achieve this goal, operations at the Lanfranchi Mine are focused on the collective capital development of the Lanfranchi, Schmitz and Winner orebodies.

The targeted timeline for the introduction of these three additional ore sources is as follows:

Lanfranchi: May 07
Schmitz: July 07
Winner: August-September 07

At the Deacon Resource, work is progressing on an Ore Reserve estimation, detailed mine plan and project financial analysis. It is anticipated that this work will be completed during the second quarter of 2007 and, subject to a positive production decision, will result in mining from Deacon as early as the third quarter of 2007. The upgrade of the Deacon Resource to a Probable Mineral Reserve and the incorporation of Deacon into the active mine plan are high priorities for the Lanfranchi Joint Venture. The elevated status that the Lanfranchi Joint Venture assigns to the Deacon is readily justified by the significant quantity and concentration of contained nickel metal, in conjunction with the Deacon's close proximity to current mining operations at Helmut South.
