Britannica Launches Online Video Store

Classic Educational Programs Now Available Conveniently

CHICAGO, IL -- (MARKET WIRE) -- June 22, 2006 -- Some of the finest educational films and videos ever made are now available online from the Britannica Video Store, just introduced by Encyclopaedia Britannica, Inc.

The new online outlet, located at http://www.tangibledata.com/britannica, features scores of Britannica's most famous videos on subjects ranging from history and biography to mathematics and science to the humanities.

Eighty-six titles are currently available, including 13 in Spanish, but the total will rise to about 200 this summer. Current titles include biographies of Thomas Jefferson, George Washington and Abraham Lincoln; programs on Chaucer and Shakespeare; surveys of Africa, Europe and South America; an instructional video on maps; and science titles on matter and atomic-molecular theory.

"Britannica has been one of the most respected names in educational film and video for decades, and now, thanks to the Internet, we can make these programs available conveniently to everyone," said Michael Ross, senior vice president with Encyclopaedia Britannica, Inc.

The site is designed to serve educators of every kind, including public and private schools, homeschoolers and individuals who are simply interested in learning.

Selection and purchasing are easy and convenient. Each title a customer purchases is loaded onto a DVD disc, and multiple videos may be put on a single disc until it's full. The first video on a DVD costs $49.95 US; additional videos are $29.95. The site meets today's electronic-commerce standards, and customers receive emails confirming their orders and shipments.
