The British Are Coming, Two Major Events to Promote the British Recording Industry Head for the U.S.

NEW YORK, NY -- (MARKET WIRE) -- February 21, 2007 -- Live from London returns to NYC on March 13th, 2007 with its unique blend of showcasing and industry networking events highlighting the boundless creativity of the UK capital's music scene. Performances by UK No. 1 act Amy Winehouse and a networking master-class lecture by music industry maverick and Sex Pistol's manager Malcolm McLaren at the British Consul-General's Residence highlight the day's events.

The program also features a second showcase and an after-show party. Live from London has been created as a 'shop window' to the London music scene and aims to reflect a typical night out in the city.

The event is presented and produced by British Underground with the support of Creative London, part of the Mayor's London Development Agency, and British government organization UK Trade & Investment. It has the support of London's NME music paper, Time Out New York and Visit Britain alongside UK music trade bodies AIM, MMF, PPL and PRS.

Post Live from London, the UK Music Industry unites to present the British Music at SxSW. This will be the largest ever SxSW UK program, increasing the amount of official networking events and parties to enable UK acts and delegates to make the most of the event. 135 British acts (No. 1 sellers to unsigned newcomers) and over 750 UK delegates will attend the new music convention in Austin, TX March 14th-18th, 2007.

The UK will be presenting four separate receptions under the British Music at SxSW umbrella as well as showcases from Wales, Scotland and the regions of England, plus British music brands such as BBC Radio 2, BBC 6 Music and NME. Following SxSW will be a new UK band break-out tour and showcase in Southern California.

This year's British event has a new look, feel and creative concept and is branded with The Duke, a character created by renowned British DC Comics graphic artist Jock ("Batman," "The Losers," "Judge Dread").

Phil Patterson, Export Promoter for the British Music Industry, UK Trade & Investment, said:

"We feel particularly pleased to see that our programs continue to bring British music and artists to the attention of so many and have helped to deliver some high profile success stories in the U.S.A."
