British Columbia Lottery Corporation: B.C. Players Headed to Las Vegas Three Card Poker Championships

RICHMOND, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Nov. 28, 2006) - Fourteen B.C. poker players will compete at the ShuffleMaster Three Card Poker National Championships at Caesar's Palace for a chance to win $1 million (U.S.), November 28 to 30.

The B.C. players won their seats to the annual tournament through British Columbia Lottery Corporation's (BCLC) first provincewide Three Card Poker promotion.

"Three Card Poker is fast becoming one of the most popular non-traditional poker games in casinos today," said Brian Lynch, BCLC Vice-President of Casino Gaming. "The National Championships is a major event with some 200 players, and we wish all our entrants the best of luck."

In B.C. casinos from July 1 to October 31, 2006, every Three Card Poker player who made at least the minimum Pair Plus Bet and received a Mini-Royal (Ace-King-Queen suited) was automatically entered into a draw for a seat in the Championships.

BCLC has paid the $4,000 (U.S.) entry fee for the Championships for each of the 14 players, and given each player $2,000 cash (CDN) for accommodation and travel expenses.

Three Card Poker is an exciting stud poker game with three ways to play and four different ways to win. You can bet against the dealer, on the value of your own three-card hand or you can bet both. For more information on how to play, visit
