British Columbia Lottery Corporation: Fort St. John Receives More Entertainment Options

RICHMOND, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Sept. 21, 2007) - British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC) and Pomeroy Group are pleased to announce the grand opening of the new Chances Fort St. John entertainment facility, following a community VIP ribbon-cutting ceremony on September 21.

"British Columbia Lottery Corporation is proud to work with the City of Fort St. John and Pomeroy Group to provide a broader array of entertainment choices for local residents and tourists in a fun, social setting," said Marsha Walden, BCLC's Vice-President, Bingo Gaming.

Located at 11308 Alaska Road, this new 20,000 square foot facility offers 140 slot machines, 2 electronic Blackjack games, 120 electronic bingo terminals, 55 paper bingo seats, traditional and interactive lottery products, off-track betting for horse racing, plus an 85-seat Show Lounge featuring live entertainment and Pay-Per-View events.

Along with top-notch gaming options, Chances Fort St. John will soon be adjacent to the 126-room Pomeroy Hotel with a convention centre for 1,000 people, 210-seat Tony Roma's restaurant, and spa. These are scheduled to open Spring 2008.

"This is a one-of-kind entertainment facility, which will soon be complemented by a first-class hotel, restaurant and spa," said Ryan Pomeroy, President of Pomeroy Group. "We invite everyone to come and experience the very best in entertainment. Chances Fort St. John offers something for everyone."

BCLC contracts with Pomeroy Group to provide day-to-day operational services for this facility. Chances Fort St. John replaces Rainbow Bingo, which operated on 100th Avenue since 1985.

Through the provincial government, gaming revenues support over 6,000 charitable and community organizations all over B.C. In fiscal year 2006/07, 44 charitable and community organizations in the Fort St. John area received over $720,000 in community gaming grants including almost $170,000 in direct access grants and over $540,000 in bingo affiliation grants.

BCLC is committed to revitalizing B.C.'s commercial bingo industry in a socially responsible manner by offering an exciting entertainment experience in first-class facilities. Chances Fort St. John will have a Self-Serve Responsible Play Information Centre, which will provide customer education and support related to responsible play and problem gambling.

BCLC is a provincial Crown Corporation reporting to the Minister of Public Safety and Solicitor General through a Board of Directors. Its mission is to offer responsible gaming entertainment, generating income for the public good.
